1) Who is Amanda Deller? (where are you from, what do you do, a bit about yourself (hobbies, etc)
I'm from Annapolis, Maryland. I currently am a personal trainer and coach at 12 Labours Crossfit.
2) How many years have you been training?
I've been an athlete my whole life. I competed as a D1 track and field athlete at UMBC. Started crossfit in 2013 and there was no turning back!!
3) Whats been the most challenging/hardest part of your journey so far? and how have you overcome them (set backs, rejections, injuries, basically anything difficult that you have had to overcome)
I was born with a congenital birth defect that effects the left side of my body. Growing up doctors have always told me that I would end up in a wheel chair by the time I was in my 20s. Well.. look at me now.
4) What does your typical workout/diet routine look like?
My whole day is planned around when I am training and when I am eating. I track macros so in the AM Ill have a nice carb heavy breakfast. I will have a morning session that lasts about 2-3 hours then I will hit a lighter session for about 90 minutes in the afternoon.
5) What new knowledge have you learned over this past year regarding training, lifestyle and nutrition?
Recovery is not just a protein shake. Sleeping , eating, water intake and mental stability will provide THE BEST recovery. Sometimes recovering is harder than training.
6) Whats your favourite cheat/Treat meal?
I LOVE NACHOS!!!
7) Whats one supplement that you could not live without?
Revive Rx protein is the best on the market. Its a must have post workout.
8) If you had to start your Journey from scratch with your health & physique what would you do differently and why?
I wouldn't change anything. I love the Ups and downs. The mistakes are what build a good athlete. The best way to learn is by failing.
9) Who do you look upto in the fitness industry and why?
I look up to anyone that competes on an elite level and also has a family/ career outside of them. It amazes me.
10) If you had to give one bit of advice to people starting out what would that be?
Don't be scared to fail. Instagram only shows the highlights of most athletes training. We fail at something every. single. day. Go for it.. if you fail its ok.. get back off- get it next time!
11) What new goals do you have on the horizon?
REGIONALS 2019!!
12) Where can people find you? (website, social media accounts)
