1) Who is Thelma Christoforou? (where are you from, what do you do, a bit about yourself (hobbies, etc)
I was born and raised in Greece, Athens and I currently live in Cyprus, a small beautiful greek island where my parents where born.
2) How many years have you been training? (Including how you got started, etc)
I have been training in Crossfit around 6 years. I was a professional volleyball player and then I started Crossfit in order to become more fit and strong for my sport. Eventually I felt in love with it and soon started to compete in local competitions.
3) Whats been the most challenging/hardest part of your journey so far? and how have you overcome them (set backs, rejections, injuries, basically anything difficult that you have had to overcome)
Until now, Thank God I didn't have any big difficulties during my journey. Some injuries but that's in the game and i 've learned to be patient and stay positive.
4) What does your typical workout/diet routine look like? (With any particular protocols you rate)
I spend more than 4-5 hours per day for training and I know I should eat more food than I do. It is very difficult for me to organize my meals because I also work between my sessions and finish my work late at night so preparation for the next day takes time and I dont always orginize it well. I start my day with a conditioning session and eat my breakfast immediately after that, Then I work for a couple of hours at the gym as a personal trainer.
As soon as in finish with work I am having a snack maybe then rest for an hour and I start my weightlifting session. After that I continue my training with some workouts and then lunch which usually is some pasta or rise with chicken and veggies. After that I have other lessons until night when I go eat my dinner pretty much similar with the lunch. Some carbs and some protein and veggies - And this is my every day story.
5) What new knowledge have you learned over this past year regarding training, lifestyle and nutrition? (And How has it changed your focus for the future).
During these years of fitness and training I have learned that you can achieve your craziest dreams if you are a hard worker! But you also have to respect your body and take care of it. Rest when you need to in order to avoid injuries!
6) Whats your favourite cheat/Treat meal?
My fav cheat meal will be definitely something sweet like chocolates and ice creams!
7) Whats one supplement that you could not live without?
One of the most important supplements for me are electrolytes and bcaa. I usually have bcaa during my training they make me feel more energetic and electrolytes especially at summer time (which is veeery hot here in Cyprus!) I feel that my body needs hydration and liquids!
8) If you had to start your Journey from scratch with both your health & physique what would you do differently and why?
I don't think i would change anything in my journey until now. I ve worked hard to achieve goals I have set and collaborate with people that I respect and also learned things from every coach I have worked with.
9) Who do you look upto in the fitness industry and why?
I follow lots of athletes, trainers in the fitness industry and sometimes share knowledge, ideas , programs which i find very cool!
10) If you had to give one bit of advice to people starting out what would that be?
My advice to people they start now would be to have patience and don't rash things. Set small goals and try to achieve one at a time. And of course have people around you that inspire and motivate you!
11) What new goals do you have on the horizon?
Well my closer goal right now is to bring out the best of me at Crossfit Games 2020. I know the preparation will be hard but i always enjoy the process of me getting fitter!
12) Where can people find you? (website, social media accounts)
I like to get in touch with people who want to know me better as a person and athlete and share my journey with them! Keeps me motivated! People can find me in
