1) Who is Joe Yoon? (where are you from, what do you do, a bit about yourself (hobbies, etc)
I'm a Massage Therapist in Orlando, Florida with clientele ranging from fitness enthusiast to Olympic Gold Medalists. I'm originally from Southern Maine and Graduated from Quinnipiac University in Connecticut with a Bachelors in Health Sciences.
2) How many years have you been training?
Seriously for 12 years. I was always playing sports growing up but started to learn about proper strength training while in college.
3) Whats been the hardest part of your journey so far? and how have you overcome them (set backs, rejections, injuries, basically anything difficult that you have had to overcome)
With the nature of strength training and pushing the body, naturally, injuries are inevitable and learning to mitigate and working around injuries became a priority.
4) What does your typical workout/diet routine look like?
Current routine is three full body strength training days and filling in the other days with more mobility/flexibility training.
As for diet, I keep it very simple. 3-5 meals a day and throw in a shake.
5) What have you learned over the past year regarding training, lifestyle and nutrition?
Hands down being consistent. Make working out a habit and eating an overall healthy diet a priority.
6) Whats your favourite cheat/Treat meal?
Ice Cream or anything Chocolate. Big sweet tooth!
7) one supplement that you could not live without?
Protein Powder. With a busy schedule, making a shake make when I don't have a meal ready is a life-saver.
8) If you had to start out from scratch with your physique what would you do differently and why?
Concentrate more on mobility and stability. The more you're hurt, the less time you train.
9) Who do you look up to in the fitness industry and why?
From a fitness and physique standpoint, I'm a fan of guys like Steve Cook and the late Greg Plitt. From a therapy standpoint, Kelly Starrett was the OG of social media mobility work and started to make mobility and flexibility a priority and not an afterthought.
10) If you had to give one bit of advice to people starting out what would that be?
Make sure to stay on top of your mobility and stability work. Nothing more frustrating than being injured.
11) What new goals are on the horizon? (new goals, aims, etc)
Teach as many people simple and effective ways to stay mobile/flexible and being consistent with it.
12) Where can people find you? (website, social media accounts)
